Regmiks Basalt Fiber

Basalt roving is produced by chopping continuous unidirectional basalt fibers. Basalt fibers can be used with all kinds of building materials (such as concrete, cement, plaster, etc.) in the construction industry to increase the tensile strength and prevent cracking.

Basalt fibers are used for earthquake resistant structures, military structures, concrete pipes and structures where liquids containing high amounts of abrasive particles will be transported. For example, it causes aerobic bacteria to form in sewer systems over time.

Basalt Fiber Advantages

Basalt fiber can also be used in asphalt structures. It provides savings with a longevity of up to 50 percent in the areas where it is used.

  • High tensile strength
  • It is alkali resistant on concrete and does not require a special coating.
  • Withstands cold down to -260°F and heat up to 1,500°F
  • Do not conduct electricity or cause magnetic fields
  • Does not harbor bacteria or microbial growth
  • Has good fatiq resistance
